What Is DTF Printing & How Does It Work?
Direct To Film (DTF) is a printing method that differs from DTG. After printing a film transfer with a specific type of water-based ink and drying it, powdered glue is applied to the back and heat cured, prepared for storage or immediate use.
One of the benefits of DTF is that zero pre-treatment is required since powdered glue cares about it. In just 15 seconds after being heat pressed, the soft water-based ink is transmitted to the fabric. The transfer works best on polyester and other non-cotton textiles that are tough to print with typical DTG printing techniques.
DTG is designed primarily for cotton apparel; DTF will never completely replace DTG for cotton printing, but it is a great option for small businesses due to the lower cost of a standalone variant or a fully automated system for large scale production DTF transfers.
DTF Printing Kings has been at the frontline of inkjet printing for a long time, and DTF is a satisfying experience for garment decoration that should not be overlooked. If you've avoided DTG printing in the past due to the pre-treatment DTF process required when using white ink, DTF interrupts the cycle and eliminates the need for pre-treatment while still providing the soft hand water-based ink generates.
